I have conducted research over a 25-year period studying proteins in various cells related to medical and agricultural science projects. These include a PhD in wool biology, studies in meat science and postdoctoral positions in the CRC- diagnostic technologies. Whilst working for AgResearch I managed an investment to develop proteomic capabilities based at Victoria University of Wellington and lead the proteomics component of the Rumen functional genomics program. In my role with the NSW Department of primary industries I have conducted 2 major research projects ‘The host control of methane in sheep’ and ‘The gateway to selecting nutrient efficient livestock;’better doers’. The research examines phenotypic variation in livestock production and environmental traits and their possible link to protein markers in the rumen epithelium. I have a keen interest in issues impacting the environment such as methane emissions from livestock and land use. https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2913-9335
