I'm Jaya, a second year PhD candidate at the ANPC, Murdoch. My research focuses on understanding the interplay between environmental pollutants, oxidative stress, and inflammation in the development of cardiovascular diseases. Environmental pollutants (microplastics) and oxidative stress influence inflammation, which plays a critical role in cardiovascular disease. By using advanced mass spectrometry techniques, I aim to identify key biomarkers that signal disease progression. This research could lead to new diagnostic tools and targeted therapies, ultimately improving care for those at risk of heart disease.
