- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
David Nkurunziza is a PhD Candidate at the University of Adelaide under the supervision of A/Prof. Bryan Coad, Prof. Vincent Bulone and Prof. Tara Pukala. His research seeks to understand the mechanisms underlying lignocellulosic cell wall deconstruction using conventional and green solvents with the goal of developing precise integrated biomass biorefining technologies. He uses mass spectrometry to study products of cell wall depolymerization, enabling the identification and characterization of bioactive ingredients and carbohydrate polymers. Specifically, he has been working on waste from the brewing industry as model lignocellulosic feedstock and is developing a comprehensive identification of cell wall deconstruction species using ion mobility mass spectrometry.
