Dr. Oliver Schilling is an Emmy-Noether group leader and ERC fellow at the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Cell Research, University of Freiburg, Germany. From 2005 – 2008 he has been a postdoctoral fellow with Prof C. Overall, Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Schilling’s research focuses on the role of proteolysis in (patho-)physiological processes and cellular communication. His laboratory applies state-of-the-art proteomic methods for substrate discovery of proteolytic enzymes. Dr. Schilling graduated in Biology in 2000 and completed his PhD in metalloenzyme research at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL)
